Role: Programme Head – Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), Mumbai Experience: 12+ Years Salary: 30-40 LPA ___________________________________________________________________ About the role : Establish a model for transforming the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) landscape in India to ensure that all 3 to 6-year-old children achieve age-appropriate development outcomes, enabling them to reach their full potential and leverage future educational opportunities. The ECCE programme aims to improve pre-school education across India—with a targeted focus on low-income and marginalised communities by 2030—aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020 and contributing to Quality Education (SDG 4). Roles & Responsibilities Program Strategy & Leadership: Develop and articulate a strategic vision for ECCE programs aligned with organizational priorities. Lead the design and development of innovative, evidence-based programs. Team & Operations Management: Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to the ECCE team. Recruit, mentor, and manage high-performing professionals while fostering a collaborative environment. Resource & Financial Oversight: Manage the ECCE program budget, ensure effective resource allocation, and monitor expenses for financial optimization. Research & Innovation: Stay abreast of global and national research, trends, and technologies to continuously enhance program quality and relevance. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and foster strong relationships with government agencies, educational institutions, community partners, and external collaborators. Advocacy & Public Relations: Represent the organization in public forums, advocate for ECCE, and liaise with policymakers and community leaders to enhance program visibility. Key Stakeholders & Collaborators District and block officials from the Department of Women and Child Development (WCD) and Department of Education District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) NGOs focused on early childhood development within the district Field implementation partners Requirements & Qualifications Education: Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education Administration, or a related field. Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience with proven leadership in managing and developing comprehensive educational programs (preferably in ECCE). Core Competencies: Strong grounding in early childhood development principles, familiarity with local/national ECCE regulations, and exceptional stakeholder collaboration and communication skills. Preferred Attributes: Strategic thinker capable of driving organizational change, paired with strong financial acumen and budget management experience.
